December Inspiration: Animal Farm

Having some unused glass bottles at home are sometimes bothering the eyes. But this lady, Nishi Chauhan, saw a lot more shapes from those kind of bottles around her household.

She turned the unused bottles became an 'animal farm', a collection of creatures which also function as lighting objects. Meet Peeves, Porky, Gerry, Flo, Humf, and Ellie!

Climb It High!

Just bumped into this article on designboom.. It might just a small plot, but they designed it so well that it looks bigger. Could you believe that this simple white house is just approximately 36 m2?

I love how they use so many glasses, it makes the room looks wider.

And the sky lights are gorgeous..

A rock climbing inside the house?? hell yeah! :D

This dwelling is designed by a collaboration of Japanese architecture practice be-fun design Tsuyoshi Shindo, Kohei Iwasaki, and Tota Abe of EANA for a couple that - I believe - love climbing so much that they really wanna bring the rock into their living room. I love how they put colorful climbing holds on the wall.
This house is a total fun! (^o^)/

Saving Your Small Space?

Are you living in a compact studio or a small apartment that you feel "shrinking" every time you put a new furniture in it? Small spaces need smart choices for their stuff. It's a little bit tricky, you know, choosing the right stuff for the room.

Lego Fridges

Are you living together with some friends and have to share like everything in the house with them? Some of them might be very neat, while the others could be a little gross. Now the second type of person could be really sucks that sometimes make you sick of trying to tell them how to tidy up things around.

And how about the fridge? Sharing a fridge is not as easy as it looks, I know, because it happens in my parents home. I'm such a woman that like to keep my things well-organize. In the fridge, I'd like to keep my cheese in a same place before and after I used it. And the same things happen to some other stuff too, like chocolates and juices, and it sucks when someone took mine as he/she think it's their stuff, aaaarrgghh drives me crazy..!! >.<

When a fridge could be a problem in a family, I bet there are hundreds of people that have problem with their roommates about it too. So, I just stepped on to an interesting post with a very catchy title, "Stackable Lego Fridges Thwart Thieving Roomates". Hahaaa.. :D and I really think that this design could be a way out of those kind of fridges-problems between roomates. ;)

It's private, big enough for one person's stuff, stackable, and they said that each module can be customize with a variety of skins and add-ons. Oh.. How I wish I had that when I was in the college last year.. ^^

Anyway, it was post from 2009 that I read, I am not sure if they really produce this 'cool' fridges yet. If you know something about it, please let me know.. ^^

Incheon International Design Awards 2010

The theme was Green Life. And I was really amazed by the results. I mean like whoaaahh..!! There are lots of great designers out there..

Anyway, I'd like to introduce you my favorite..

C-WATER is a device which produces freshwater. It evaporates sewage, salt water and other watery objects by the use of heat generated from sunlight. It is applicable to wetlands, beaches, boats, sewage and other places. It has a flexible pull-type design. Not only can it be used as the deflector of steam, but also it is space-saving and convenient for transporting. What’s more, it is beneficial to travelers to use when they are out. The aim of C-WATER is to advocate the value of creating highly environmental protection with low costs.

What I like about this product..
The concept! When I first read the competition information at my uni, most of my thought are how to change the environment, or using the solar energy for some gadget and things like that. But this is so much more amazing! Using the solar energy for getting a pure water is just awesome.. ^o^
One thing that make me wondered is, how long could it take to have a glass of water using this product?
But after all, it is awesome! :D

It's clean and simple.. The form, the color, the signs. Nothing complicated.

Bobble Sport Water Bottle

Buying bottled water is really a waste. But we need it for keep away from dehydration. How about using our own bottle? We keep on buying it when the water is running out, don't we??

Now see this cool little bottle designed by one of the greatest designer ever, Karim Rashid.

What makes it special is the awesome cap that filters tap water as you drink it. The water taste clean because the positively-charged carbon filter removes organic contaminants. Each filter gives you 2 months of  crisp and clean water, and you can replace the filter cap after that. Awesome! ^O^

Designboom just held a competition called Seoul Cycle Design Competition 2010, in collaboration with Seoul Design Foundation. It's just ended with tons of great designs on the shortlisted entries. You can check them all here.

Bike 2.0 the next generation bicycle, will give you more fun with energy boosts when you are cruising around. It makes you daily ride more comfortable with energy leveling and the stepless gearbox. You can even add the seat-tube battery and get there faster. Bike 2.0 has a generator and wires instead of a chain, so you will never get oily pants or fingers from the chain again. The two wireless control-units will control any aspect of your ride. You can easily control all this with the two wireless rings on the handlebar.

You know, I think I don't have any more words to say.. They have explained everything.. But I'd like to say that I love how they keep made it simple with the shapes and colors.

Simple things could be very interesting..

I just found this gorgeous CHOPPING BOARDS on one of my bookmarked site, Kitchen Critic. They said that no two boards are the same, great isn't it? I really would like to have one, but I haven't got my own house. Should I buy and save it for later in my parents house?? Hmm.. I don't think so, heheee.. :P

There are four designs available for sale. A small character laser engraved into the Acacia wood, and transformed those natural wood grains into a unique and beautiful landscape behind the illustration. Ooooooww, what a great idea..!! ^0^
